Season’s Greetings from inCTRL Solutions and the Water & Energy Department at ifak! We wish you and your loved ones a happy holiday season and all the best for 2017.

It has been a busy and very successful year for inCTRL Solutions and our colleagues at ifak. Our business continues to grow and we welcomed several utilities, manufacturers, and some major consulting companies as new clients. Probably the most exciting event was when Ivan Miletic joined inCTRL as our new Data Analytics Leader. Expect great things in 2017!

Looking back, there are a number of developments sticking out: ifak released SIMBA# version 2.0 with so many new features that it would be difficult to list them all. Of course the new Aeration System Modeling Library is included, but there is also the new Biofilm Reactor enabling the modeling of Granular Sludge SBRs, Membrane Aerated Biofilm Reactors (MABRs), and Trickling Filters. All three technologies were lacking specific models and SIMBA# shows again that it is at the forefront of model development.

With SIMBA# biogas, we entered another industry (agricultural and food processing waste treatment) and the feedback from our clients is overwhelming.

Our Monitoring & Control Platform was implemented at two full-scale facilities and we are getting continued interest from other companies and utilities.

We have been lucky to work with some outstanding researchers on challenging projects. Our research cooperations with ICRA in Girona and the Universidade Nova de Lisboa are ongoing and some new cooperations are starting in 2017.

As in previous years, inCTRL was very active in volunteer work: Oliver is now the Chair of the WEF Biofilm Interest Group and the Vice-Chair of the WEF Facility Operations Symposia helping to develop the WEFTEC.17 program. Leiv remains the Chair of the WEF MEGA group, Vice-Chair of the IWA ICA Specialist Group, and member of the management committee of the IWA MIA Specialist Group. As the Vice-Chair of the ICA 2017 Conference he is heavily working on making it an enjoyable and technically challenging event. At the moment he is reviewing WEFTEC.17 abstracts for the WEF Municipal Symposia.

The inCTRL Solutions team together with the Water & Energy Department at ifak appreciate your continued support and wish you an exciting and successful 2017!

With best wishes,
