inCTRL is looking for a Computer Programmer for a permanent full-time position in our Dundas ON offices

Skills Requirements:

  • Master’s Degree in Software Engineering or related field
  • Experience in developing data analytics and visualization packages specifically for PCA/PLS (i.e. Principal Components Analysis/Projection to Latent Structures)
  • 5 years’ experience in designing and developing software applications including user interfaces and back-end databases (i.e. use case development, software design and architecture, quality control)
  • Advanced skills in setting up and maintaining data bases with a strong skills using PostgreSQL in addition to Microsoft SQL, MySQL, SQLite, Oracles-PL/SQL
  • Strong knowledge of Mobile (Android, iOS, Windows), Web and Windows applications
  • Strong expertise using current development tools, with a focus on C#, vue.js, .NET and Android Studio. Including experience using Angular, Visual Studio (2017 or later), Visual Studio Code (2018 or later)
  • Proven track-record using HTML, XML, WPF, WinForms, Windows Service, ASP.NET, Web API, Entity Framework, JavaScript, JQuery, Microsoft SharePoint
  • Experience with complex software development projects with Visual Studio and Android Studio
  • Experience in using ALM (Application Life Cycle Management), Agile and SCRUM with a proven track-record managing software through its lifecycle
  • Experience with software version control (SVN or similar) and in software testing
  • Experience in developing web and desktop applications for engineering clients, ideally wastewater and biogas
  • Worked with custom-made, commercially-available math and linear algebra packages
  • Functional in written and spoken English
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Strength and interest in multi-disciplinary team-work

 

Duties/Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for working with designers and content producers to design, develop, and deliver data analytics software packages and software for environmental engineering specifically wastewater treatment and waste-to-energy systems. The successful candidate will work to customize computer programs (Android Studio, Visual Studio, Visual Studio Code) to tailor code to client needs within wastewater treatment and waste-to-energy industries.  The successful candidate will be responsible to ensure all source code is written in programming languages (PostgreSQL, C#, vue.js., JavaScript, Android) so that these programs are compiled for use by end users/clients.  The successful candidate will be responsible for the management of software life-cycles that will include the organization and execution of software quality control procedures and the development of standard procedures for software maintenance, version control, update, and testing.  The successful candidate will be responsible to write, modify and debug software for Windows desktop, Android and web applications and will use source debuggers, and performance monitoring tools to ensure code is free of errors.  The successful candidate is expected to stay up-to date with new programming languages and technologies that may become available and to employ new methods in their work when they are needed.  The successful candidate will be required to document the programs they write including flowcharts, layouts, diagrams, code commenting and revision dates.
